Cycling Zen in Amsterdam

Marc from amsterdamize created this beautiful little video showing what streets are like in the Netherlands for cyclists. He also takes great still photos of this too such as this posting: 6 o'clock rush hour

What I take away from this is that the safety of cyclists in the Netherlands is not so much from the cycle paths but from the personal attitudes of everyone on the street. It's obvious that cars respect cyclists. Just as apparent is that cyclists all know what they should be doing and never create sudden or strange movements to confuse motorists. Everyone is both relaxed and alert. It is a beautiful thing.
